Not to be confused with the first JumpStart Kindergarten that was released in 1994, this more recent version contains three additional activities and has improved graphics plus a stronger emphasis on phonics. After typing in his or her name, your child sees a pleasant looking kindergarten classroom. Clicking on any object in the classroom will launch one of 18 activities. There's a nice variety of choices, from a game that reinforces the concepts of left and right, to an open-ended clock exploration game. The structured activities automatically adjust in challenge level, and kids earn gold stars that accumulate and win them a trip to the petting zoo. Like the original version, this update playfully presents important kindergarten concepts.
Teaches: pre-reading, math, phonics, telling time
